Yes, I have taught many young students over the years. My lower age limit is 6 years old, however, the is never an older age limit so do get in touch. For younger students, I have developed a course of lessons to ensure that they really get the most out of learning guitar. For your peace of mind, I am fully DBS Checked.
That is completely down to you, the student. I focus my teaching material around what you as the student are interested in, what inspired you to pick up the guitar in the first place. This is what is most likely going to help inspire you to pick up the guitar to practice at home! As a teacher, I specialise in covering rock, folk and classical guitar styles - though can also teach funk, heavy metal and other guitar genres.
I am a mobile teacher, enabling me to teach my students in the comfort of their own homes. So no need to worry about travelling to me, I can travel to you for our guitar lessons if you are in or around the Colchester area. For more information simply get in touch.
Not at all - don’t worry if you cannot read music, I have the material written in music notation and/or tablature and will help you to understand how music can be read.
Yes, it is well worth having a guitar both for our lessons as well as practising between our lessons. Students are therefore expected to provide their own guitar while I will provide the music and other learning resources. There is a great range of Music Shops in Colchester where you can find the guitar that would suit you.
